about
Wild Me Is the second single taken from The Pearl Harts sophomore album "Love, Chaos", produced by Danio (Husky Loops, Kari Faux).
Described as a song about frustration within the sexes from the viewpoint of a woman– particularly in hetero cis relationships and how patriarchal ideology can damage and shame a woman and her natural instincts, The Pearl Harts comment further:
"Why do women get called crazy, wild and out of control when their behaviour only mirrors that of men? Rarely is the same label put on them. “Where do I stand if I can’t be the man?” Wild me strives to call out these behaviours by crying out “Wild me, Why me” with force and discontentment."
Invoking Stooges guitars with influence from Kim Gordon and PJ Harvey, Wild Me boasts hip hop influenced beats with huge 80’s power fills and Jack White-esque guitar pedal wizardry, and forces you to understand that being wild is awe-inspiring and nothing to be ashamed of.
lyrics
I'M NOT THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE LEAVING THE LIGHT ON
I'M NOT THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE CREEPING AT NIGHT
OUT OF SIGHT
I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE JUST LEAVE IT ALONE
NOTHING TO PROVE
NOTHING TO LOSE
I'M NOT THE GIRL WITH THE LIP STAINS YOU HIDE FROM
I'M NOT THE GIRL WITH THE PROMISE OF SAFE
HAVE NO PLACE
I'M NOT THE ONLY GIRL WHO'S SAFE IN YOUR WORLD
SOMETHING TO PROVE
EVERYTHING TO LOSE
WILD ME
WILD ME
WILD ME
WILD ME
WHY ME?
WHY ME?
WILD ME
WILD ME
YOU’RE THE ONE THAT HOLDS THE GROUND
I’M THE ONE WHO GROUNDS YOU DOWN
WHERE DO I STAND IF I CAN’T BE THE MAN?
LIGHT ANOTHER CIGARETTE, TRY TO FORGET
WALK IN THE ROOM AND WHERE ARE YOU?
POUR MYSELF A GLASS OF THAT FINE WINE
HELP ME
PASS THE TIME
EVERY SIP I TAKE LEAVES A COLD BITTER TASTE
TAKE ME BACK DIVINE TIME
SOMETHING STRONG HELP ME
LOSE MY MIND
BRUISED - ARE YOU AMUSED?
WILD ME
WILD ME
WILD ME
WILD ME
WHY ME?
WHY ME?
WILD ME
WILD ME
